We’ve been on a bit of a pizza kick lately, so I tried making this Pizza Chicken Pasta recipe in my crock pot. Long ago, when I was a new blogger, I received a Facebook message from a woman who suggested making a dish like this. I no longer have the message with her recipe, and sadly, I couldn’t remember her name. (So if you are reading this, please contact me so I can link your recipe!) I decided to wing it and here is what I came up with:
Crock Pot Pizza Chicken
- 3 Large Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
- 1 TB Oregano
- 1 TSP Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Jar Newman’s Own Sockarooni Pasta Sauce
- 1 Can Tomato Paste
- Salt & Pepper, To Taste
- 1/4 Cup Turkey Pepperoni, chopped
- 1 Cup Mozzarella
- 12 Oz Cooked Pasta
Spray the inside of your crock pot. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces, then place in pot. Season with salt, pepper, oregano and garlic.
I love the Newman’s Own Sockarooni sauce because it contains peppers, which gives it a great flavor. Pour the Sockarooni sauce over the top, stir and add pepperoni.
Cook on High for 3 hours. In the final 30 minutes, add in the tomato paste to thicken the sauce. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to directions. When done, drain pasta and add to the chicken. Top with mozzarella and cover so the cheese melts. Add grated parmesan, if desired. Enjoy!
This turned out very well. The whole family loved it and had seconds. (Even my child who doesn’t like any red sauce ate this) I was pleased and will be making this again.
