DIY Halloween Costumes

 

 

I have been looking at {simple} and less common DIY Halloween costumes on Pinterest.  I’m sure there will be lots of minions this year, but since we love those movies, I had to put a couple on my list. Here are some of my favorites.

 

Hasbro’s Operation – Could easily be made into a child’s costume.

 

Minions – I think instead of 2 minions, I would make the other person(or maybe Dad) into Mr Gru. Gray jacket, turtle neck, striped scarf.

 

Girlie Minion – Cute tutu version for a girl.

 

Flo and Mayhem – I just find this costume so unique and clever.  One of my favorites!

 

Jack & Jill – Dirt, bandages, ratty clothes and a bucket is all you need.  So {simple}!

 

Charlotte’s Web – This costume was so easy!  Clothes from thrift store ($5) Pig costume was $10 at Target.  Already had the spider from some decorative web.

 

Where’s Waldo – You could buy the shirt (I’ve seen this at Target) or use red duct tape on a white shirt to make the stripes.

 

Morton Salt Girl – I have always thought this costume was adorable!Jelly Fish – Instead of using a hat, I would use an umbrella instead.  This way you don’t have to balance this on your head.

Fancy Nancy – Use an old fancy dress, add a ribbon tutu, boa, feather clip, long pearls, a fancy purse, sparkly shoes and a curly up-do! (This picture happens to show a Fancy Nancy lunch box that has a stuffed dog in, but any purse will do)

Owl 1 – These owl costumes can be sewn or glued with Liquid Stitch or similar.  Adult or child.

Animal “Cape” Costumes – Clever idea.  This pin shows where you can buy these animal capes, but if you are crafty, I’m sure you can easily put one together.
