Facebook – How To Choose The Posts You Want To See

April 7, 2014   |   No Comments

Hello Fellow Bloggers.

I can’t go a day without seeing multiple posts on Facebook regarding the frustration we all experience as our reach slips further away. We follow other blog and don’t see most of their posts. We have followers that want to see our posts, and at best, only 1% of our following gets to see them. Now I don’t have the ultimate solution on how to eliminate this problem, but I did discover a way to see SIGNIFICANTLY MORE posts from our favorite bloggers and if you spread the word, they can start seeing yours too!

Here is how I do this:
Go to your LEFT sidebar on Facebook and locate “Interests”. Click on this and select “+Add Interests”.

Now, before you create your list, you will also be given “Suggestions”. Here are public lists created by other bloggers that you follow. If desired, you can use this to find new blogs to follow or you can choose to follow their whole list. My next step is to select “+Create List”.

A pop-up window will open and thumbnails of the pages you follow will appear. Start selecting the ones you want to see regularly. Once you’re done, name the list. In the example below, you will see a random selection of pages I follow.

Once your selections are complete,  name your list. If you would like to keep the blogs categorized, then you have the option to make separate lists for Food Blogs, Craft Blogs, etc. How you organize your list is up to you. You will also get to choose who can see your list.

For now, I just have one category that I created called “Bloggers”. It contains several blogs that stopped appearing on my Newsfeed.  Your list will appear under “Interests” on your left sidebar. Now you can keep up with the bloggers you chose to follow!  The feed from my list shows completely different posts than my regular Newsfeed and yours can too!

Lets face it. We follow several blogs, yet we don’t comment on every single post they publish. Maybe we didn’t have time or maybe we don’t care for a particular recipe they featured, but either way, it should not be for Facebook to decide who & what we have interest in seeing, when WE clearly made the decision to follow a page in the first place.

If we discuss this with our followers and encourage them create lists that include our pages, then we can ultimately broaden our reach. Please pass this along!
