Since we’re in the midst of spring break, I needed a few activities in place to keep the kiddos occupied. The best one is an “Art Center” that I set up in my dining room, which means I gave up my dining room table for this week.
First, I covered the table with a plastic table cloth from the DollarTree. I always keep a few on hand for painting, crafting, etc. Do you use flexible plastic cutting boards? When I replace mine, I keep the old ones in the garage for various messy projects (paint, mod podge, play-doh..). If I can’t clean it afterwards, I just toss it.
Then I brought out all the art supplies I could find and bought a stack of poster board. (2/$1 at DollarTree) They’ve spent so much time here this week, with friends and without. They love making posters and collages. Some are even a group effort. One was cut into a few puzzle pieces they could each keep a part of it (aka: friendship posters).
This has been SO worth it! This summer I will set up a table on my patio which will also include paint, pastels, chalk and clay.
