With all the family time and movie watching we’ve done over the holidays, we’ve been slacking on the “no dog on the sofa” rule. Here are the excuses I’m getting:
- But mom, she’s on my lap.
- Mom, they’re tucked in the blanket.
- Come on, look how cute she is.
- I put a towel down.
- Puppies shed less (Yeah, right.)
The dog hair is getting to be a bit much for me and aside from lugging out the vacuum twice a day (not happening), I’ve been using an adhesive lint roller. I just used up my last one and its really not the most cost effective way to remove the pet hair. I’ve heard that you can use rubber kitchen gloves but I don’t typically use gloves. Then I accidentally found a new pair in a kitchen drawer that I rarely open, so I decided to give it a try.
Slightly dampen the glove and brush the hair off the upholstery.
Rinse off the hair and repeat until desired result.
The hair sticks to the glove. This is a vinyl glove. I haven’t tried latex so I don’t know if it works any better. I still get a better, faster result from a lint roller, but I would definitely use this method again.
