It’s always snack time at my house and this week I’m serving up Tyson® Any’tizers® BBQ Chicken Chips with a Creamy Avocado Dip! More often than not, I have hungry teens at my house. Usually they just come over to hang out, but this summer has been filled with online classes and AP summer homework so they’ve been here studying and EATING! A lot!
Study sessions require focus and energy. Filling up on sugary snacks will not keep them going, but these great snacks will! Tyson® Any’tizers® Chicken Chips are made with real, all natural quality chicken, have 11grams of protein per serving and offer a wide variety of all-white meat chicken prepared in a variety of delicious flavors. I also love that there are over 50 pieces per bag. Perfect for snack time or really anytime.
While shopping at Walmart, I picked up two bags of Tyson® Any’tizers® Chicken Chips, in both BBQ and Ranch varieties. I thought both would go really well with a creamy avocado dip that I’ve been wanting to make. The crispy texture would be perfect for dipping! Tyson® Any’tizers® Chicken Chips can be found in the frozen snack aisle.
The creamy avocado dip is pretty quick and easy to make. Smooth, creamy and goes well with chicken, veggies and chips! It’s a win-win for me! I like my dip to have a bit of bite so I usually divide it in half and make some of it a little spicy.
Avocado Dip Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Plain Greek Yogurt (can sub sour cream)
- 2 Avocados (medium-large)
- 1/3 Cup Fresh Cilantro, chopped
- 2 TBSP Powdered Ranch Dressing Mix
- 1 TSP Cumin
- 2 TBSP Chives, chopped
- Juice of 1 Lime
- Salt & Pepper, To Taste
- Regular or Candied Jalapenos, to taste, optional
- Crispy Bacon, crumbled, optional
Preheat your oven to bake the Tyson® Any’tizers® Chicken Chips, according to package directions. Now it’s time to make the dip, though it can be made ahead of time. What I love about this avocado dip is how quick and easy it is to make! Once you measure out your ingredients, set them aside and pull out your blender.
TIP: Even though this dip is made in the blender, it is still a good idea to chop the cilantro and chives. Remove the cilantro stems, if possible. Sometimes the blender doesn’t cut them down enough and you end up with long pieces of stems (or chives) in your dip.
Blend your ingredients until smooth. Now it’s time to decide if you wish to make some or all of your avocado dip spicy. If desired, remove half of the mixture and set aside. Add desired amount of jalapenos to the blender. If they are candied or from a jar, then as is will be fine. If you’re using fresh jalapeno, roughly chop before adding to the blender. Depending on the size, you may only need 1/4 to 1/2 of a jalapeno pepper. Personally, I have become hooked on candied jalapenos and love the combination of spice and sweetness they add to recipes.
TIP: The seeds of a jalapeno is where most of the heat comes from. To reduce the amount of spice, remove seeds before using.
